HOUSTON, July 28, 2003: COADE, Inc. announced today the release of CADWorx 2004, an enhanced version of the company's AutoCAD®-based software suite for plant design. These enhancements include COADE's new CADWorx EQUIPMENT module and productivity and functionality improvements to its CADWorx PIPE and CADWorx P&ID modules

The new CADWorx EQUIPMENT 2004 module is a parametric equipment modeler with all the features needed for easily creating 3D equipment for plant design. This new package makes it quick and easy to design such items as vessels, exchangers, tanks, pumps, etc., and it provides drop down lists to make the selection of flange types and ratings, pump motor frames and other components as easy as possible. The program's hierarchical nature makes it simple to identify, design and modify equipment components, and any modifications made are instantly reflected in the model. Also, vessels and exchangers can be bi-directionally linked to COADE's PVElite pressure vessel software for engineering analysis.

CADWorx PIPE 2004 improvements include enhanced integrated steel modeling functions with coping and notching capabilities. Also new are integrated HVAC ducting and cable tray shapes, automatic weld gaps and layering by line number, added to the existing powerful isolation and grouping tools. CADWorx P&ID 2004 improvements include enhanced copy procedures, auto repeat for the component insertion and user defined dropdown lists for controlled and repeatable data entry.

CADWorx 2004 supports and takes full advantage of groundbreaking performance and functionality improvements in AutoCAD 2004. These enhancements give CADWorx 2004 the ability to let multiple users work more efficiently together on even larger models than in the past. These improvements are made possible by significant file size reduction, faster load and save times and enhanced management of external references (XREF's).

Thomas Van Laan, president of COADE, believes that the plant design industry will be extremely pleased with the improvements made possible with AutoCAD 2004. "Our customers are most concerned with speed, size, and how to manage them," explained Van Laan. "With this new version of AutoCAD, we've found that a 22-megabyte project created under CADWorx 2002 drops to less than 6 megabytes under CADWorx 2004, a dramatic 70%+ reduction in project file size." Van Laan added that the new XREF management features in AutoCAD 2004, including improved load speed and change notification, are perfect complements to the way the company's CADWorx users manage large projects.

CADWorx offers intelligent drawing-to-database connectivity, advanced levels of automation and easy-to-use design techniques. Because of these distinct advantages, it has been rapidly adopted by EPC firms and owner operators in the process, power, offshore, pulp and paper, shipbuilding, water treatment and the hygienic industries such as food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and semiconductor sectors. CADWorx leads the industry by offering bi-directional integration between CAD and stress analysis, linking CADWorx with COADE's industry-leading software programs for the design and analysis of piping systems (CAESAR II) and pressure vessels (PVElite).
