COADE releases TANK 3.00 for Oil Storage Tank Design and Stress Analysis

HOUSTON, Texas - February 13, 2008 : COADE, Inc. announced today the release of TANK 3.00, an updated edition of its popular software program for the design, analysis and evaluation of welded steel oil storage tanks that incorporates API-650, 10th Edition, Addendum 4. This updated code in TANK 3.00 adds a new Appendix V for evaluating tank external pressure and includes major code changes for analyzing tank stress loads. These code changes include a rewritten Appendix E (seismic evaluation), modifications to the overturning checks in Section 3.11, an increase in base wind speed from 100 mph to 120 mph, and modifications to various load and load combinations in Section 3.2.1 and Appendix R.

TANK incorporates full analysis and design capabilities for wall thickness, materials, supported cone roofs, seismic requirements, service and maintenance considerations, bottom plate thickness, nozzle flexibilities, shell settlement, wind girder requirements and allowable fluid heights. Also included are extensive built-in materials databases plus databases for structural steel, seismic curves and nozzle curves from current and past API specifications.
