HOUSTON, TEXAS – March 3, 2009 –  It is with regret that I write to tell you of the loss of one of our own. Dipinder Sidhu died on February 12th, 2009 as one of the passengers of Continental flight 3407 from Newark, NJ that went down in Buffalo, NY. A memorial service was held for him on Saturday February 28, 2009.

When Dipinder joined COADE in January 2003, as an engineer and product developer for the CADWorx suite of products, he quickly and enthusiastically became one of the team. He initially provided product support by interfacing with end users and helping them become more productive. He further showed his skills by enhancing COADE's CADWorx Equipment package and later concentrating mostly on CADWorx Steel, CADWorx Plant's HVAC and ISOGEN. If you have ever used CADWorx Steel's cage ladder routine or ISOGEN CEDIT you would be familiar with the high quality of his work.

Dipinder was a bright young man that, before he joined COADE, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Houston. In his earlier years he also had the remarkable achievement of being recognized as the “Outstanding Mathematics Student” by North Harris Community college. To add another feather to his cap, he was also awarded the Hearst Academic Scholarship by the University of Houston for his extraordinary achievement in the field of Mathematics.

While at COADE Dipinder decided to make a career change and in August 2008 he left COADE to attend the Drucker School of Management in Claremont, California for dual credit graduate program in Financial Engineering and a MBA. He was very popular for his friendly and helpful nature towards students of different nationalities.

Dipinder was born in Chandigarh, India but spent his childhood growing up in the West African nation of Liberia enjoying the beach, fishing, playing soccer, and watching old Disney cartoons. With his family, he loved spending time playing video games with his sister (who he never let win!), teasing his grandfather, and sneaking behind his parents' backs to stock up on supplies of soda and chocolate.

In his teen years, Dipinder enjoyed collecting comic books, whiling away hours on the internet and relentlessly teasing his youngest sister, whom he nonetheless adored. He loved caring for animals, talked endlessly about computers, and spent hours perfecting his culinary skills.

Dipinder will be remembered for the intelligent, smart, witty and ambitious young man he had become. He loved spending time with family, going to the gym, cooking exotic foods, sketching, drawing, and working on computer programs. He was a very loving son, genuinely caring brother, a loyal and great friend and a valued colleague.

He will be missed.
